The Slater Memorial Museum

We went to the Slater Memorial Museum last Tuesday. Some people don't like museums. Also, Mijeong doesn't like museums. But Mijeong told me. "This museum was very good and I liked it."

We could see many different culture's products, for example America, Africa, Asia, Greece, Rome and Egypt. We felt that we don't need to visit any museum in the other country, because we saw a lot of important arts even though they were imitations. However, if we go to some museums in other countries and if we see the original products, it will be very interesting.

The Africa pavilion was very funny and almost all the furniture looked luxurious and beautiful. Mijeong wanted to bring some accessories from there.

The most impressive thing was "PIETA", which is a subject in Christian art, depicting the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus.

By the way, we were disappointed a little bit, because there were no Korean products although they have Japanese and Chinese products in the Asian pavilion.

The assistant director was so kind. There was no guide but she introduced the museum at the beginning of the tour.

Actually she would finish her work at 2:15 but she was waiting for us and explained a lot to us. We really appreciate her.

This museum was good. So, we recommend the Slater Memorial Museum to the other UCAELI students.
